Desil is the point or value that divides all data into 10 equal parts. Desil serves to determine the value of each 10 percent limit in the distribution in question. Here is the decile formula for a single data:
The Decile Formula for Single Data
Location Di = Location of data (i(n + 1) / 10)
Information:
D = Decile
n = Number of data
i = 1,2, ..., 9
Example :
Please determine the 1st decile of the data 1,2,3,4,5, ... , 99 !
Answer :
i = 8
n = 10
Location Di = Location of data (i(n + 1) / 10)
Location D1 = Location of data (1(99 + 1) / 10)
Location D1 = Location of data (1(100) / 10)
Location D1 = Location of data (100/ 10)Location D1 = Location of data (10)Location D1 = 10
So the 1st decile of data 1,2,3,4,5, ... , 99 is 10.
