How to Complete The Two Variables Linear Inequality Set
Here are the steps taken to complete the set of two linear inequality sets:
- Draw ax + by = c line of cartesius by searching. Cut points of graph with x axis (y = 0) and y axis (x = 0).
- Take any point P (x1 y1) that is not located on the line, then calculated the value of ax1 + by1. The value of ax1 + by1 is compared to the value of c.
- The settlement region for inequality ax + by < c is determined as follows:
If ax1 + by1 < c, then the region containing P is the settlement region.
f ax1 + by1 > c, then the region containing P is not a settlement region. - The settlement region for inequality ax + by > c is determined as follows:
If ax1 + by1 > c, then the region containing P is the settlement region.
If ax1 + by1 < c, then the region containing point P is not a settlement region. - Areas that are not settlement are given hatching, so the settlement area is an area with no shade. This is helpful when determining areas that meet some inequalities.
- Settlement areas for inequalities containing equal signals are drawn with full lines, whereas inequality settlements that do not contain an equal sign are in the figure with dashed lines.

For how to find the intersection of the graph with the x-axis and y-axis can be searched by creating the following table:
Then the intersection points with the x and y axes are (2, 0) and (0, 4)
Take the point P (0,0) as the test point at 2x + y < 4 and obtain 2.0 + 0 < 4.
because 2.0 + 0 < 4, then the area containing P is the settlement region.
Then the graph becomes:
The non-shaded area is the settlement region of 2x + y < 4.
