The Relationship of Two Lines

The two graded lines m₁ and m₂ are said to be parallel if m₁ = m₂ and perpendicular if m₁ x m₂ = -1

Example:
From some of the line equations below, which are parallel and intersect perpendicular!

Answer:

I and II are parallel because the gradient is the same, that is m = -2
I and III, IV and V intersect perpendicular, because of m_I. m_III = -1 and m_IV. m_V = -1.
