Sigma Notation in Math

Sigma notation is a notation used to write briefly the sum of n tribes. This symbol is taken from the Greek capital letter which means Sum or sum and was first introduced by Leonardo Euler in the 18th century.

U_k is a polynomial in variable k. If U_x then the polynomial is variable x and so on. Polynomials can be constants, degree 1, degree 2, and others.
n is an integer and is called the upper limit of sums. n > the lower bound of the sum.
