Data based on the source is divided into two, are :
1. Primary Data
Primary data is data obtained or collected directly, for example by conducting interviews, observation, or research in the laboratory. The advantage of primary data is that the data is more in line with the truth based on what the researcher sees and hears directly so that elements from the source can be avoided. While the weakness is the process of taking data takes a relatively long time and the cost is large enough.
2. Secondary Data
Secondary data is data obtained from other parties or data obtained indirectly. In the process of collecting secondary data the researcher needs data collection by visiting the library, study center, or reading research-related books. Examples of secondary data from providers such as BPS, LIPI, etc. The advantage of secondary data is the least time and cheap cost required by researchers to classify problems and evaluate data. While the weakness is that it may allow the retrieval of outdated data that will make the data useless.
